The preparations have begun, and You Mean More has scheduled the next UC Berkeley Suicide Prevention Walk to be held on March 9, 2014.
Our goal is to have 300 registered walkers and raise $20,000 to fund research performed by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
The fall semester is dedicated to publicizing our club around campus and to raise awareness for issues of mental health and suicide, and how we as the UC Berkeley community can help each other overcome the negative stigma attached to these topics. We host events such as activities/displays on Sproul, teach-ins, and will be hosting a Fall Benefit Show to kick-off our fundraising goals and spread the word out about the walk to be held in the spring. If you are interested in attending the Fall Benefit Show, please click here for more information. Once the spring semester rolls around all of our efforts are directed toward finalizing the details and preparing for the UC Berkeley Suicide Prevention Walk.
If you are interested in helping us plan our fall events, the walk or reach our desired goals, please email email@example.com. We are always looking for enthusiastic students with a passion for planning and raising awareness to join our club and help us put on all of these events. All assistance is greatly appreciated! Additionally, if you are interested in donating to our club or to AFSP, or would like to start gathering a team for registration, which will open in the spring, you are welcome to give us a heads up and we would be happy to provide you with any necessary information.
